TRISH EICHELBERGER
Alamo Drafthouse @ The Ritz
Austin, TX 78701
Unknown to Executive Chef Trish Eichelberger when she got her first job in a movie theater concession counter at age fifteen, things would come full circle and land her back in the “industry” as the executive chef at one of the most innovative food venues in the world. But she didn't go directly from hawking Raisinets and Mr Pibb to the Alamo Ritz. In between she kept busy.
She became adept at planning parties large and small as the catering manager for 34th Street Café here in Austin. Next, Trish began to hone her skills in the high end culinary arts as Pastry and Sous Chef for Mars Restaurant. During her stint at Mars she was able to appear as a guest Chef with our own John Bullington as they prepared the first of many feasts for the duo at the screening of Bullington’s favorite film "Ishtar" (not her choice). When offered the chance to help open the Alamo South Lamar, Trish leapt at the chance to explore the marriage of film and food.
A year later Trish was given the wheel at the Village and kept the ship going full steam ahead. Trish has become a master of putting the film on the plate starting with her Valentines Day interpretation of "Like Water for Chocolate" followed by "Moonstruck", "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Blues Brothers" Brunch and much more. She recently upended former mentor Bullington in the first of Alamo’s Iron Chef series and now holds the title “Sik San”, God of Cookery. And teamed with her friend and colleague John Bullington she has prepared breathtaking feasts and special menus. With the Alamo she continues doing charity work for Communities in Schools, The Green Corn Project and The Austin Food Bank.
