ALEX OTT

German-born, Alex Ott started his career in mixology under the wings of mentor and master mixologist, Heiko Beck, owner of Latino bar in Brunswick, Germany. Under Beck’s supervision, Alex developed his own keen sense of flavor and style. His experience led him to Paris, where he created exotic and extensive cocktail lists for the critically acclaimed Buddha Bar, delving deeper into the art and science of drink alchemy. In 1999, Alex sought out to conquer the New York City bar scene and made a name for himself at Sushi Samba, where he was quickly recognized for his brilliant drink mixes. In 2001, he won first place in the “Best Mixologist in America” contest in Las Vegas and was named Time Out New York’s “Bartender of the Year” for three consecutive years. Alex has traveled all over the world living and experiencing foreign cultures in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Australia. His inspiration for new and intriguing libations comes from the tastes and scents of these varied cultures.
