Established in 1985, Carmelo's Ristorante is Austin's answer to an authentic Sicilian kitchen spiced with continental chic. All the ingredients are here - the pungent smells of garlic, the irresistible sounds of an accordion, a collection of limestone buildings that open out to a charming piazza recreating the village of Taormina where Carmelo was born and, of course, a sundry of the best Italian pastas, olive oils and wines. Specialties include steaks, seafood, poultry - and a pastry selection that is absolute primo. Carmelo's four private rooms accommodate from 10 to 300 people at a time for business meetings and receptions.
